Leela4GM - the campaign thread (please close)

I chose to run a little election campaign.

Reasons:
1. GMs are part of this RPG so the GM-polls are, too. Why not play it fully?
2. Running a campaign for yourself is not against the rules. (only opening a poll for yourself is)
3. Campaigns are interesting and fun.

So trolls and flamewar-starters, be welcome to bring life into my campaign.



PROGRAM:

Dayly meetings will be hold until the poll is finished.

When: 15:00 servertime
How long: open end
Where: Pub in Hurnscald (where NPC Kfahr is)
Topics: All topics concerning the campaign "Leela for GM".
How: You can ask me questions so you can find out if I would make a good GM in your opinion. Or we just talk, have fun and drink a beer together

Events
There are going to be some smaller events, so we start knowing each other.
Events are not yet scheduled, just check this thread every now and then
Just one word: The events are for the fun, therefore there will be prizes but nothing big. Prizes are not the most important thing in an event. But adding fun to the game is.
Winners will always be honored and be mentioned here, including medals/certificates

Apart from the fact that I do not think that a GM does such things, I would report that to Platyna, as she is the head of GMs.

Today (16:00 - 16:20) we had a little hide and seek event. People who where wearing something pink and found me got ten pink flowers.

First of all: The first time I saw you botting was shortly after you had openly discussed with someone how to make a good bot. As you acted exactly like afk botting I reported you via @wgm. That was about 10 month ago. After no gm was online, and i was in a pretty trollish mood i just said it openly in Hurnscald. (Yes, everyone does something stupid from time to time)
After that I only talked to people in privat about that case. I Talked about it to our clan leader because she asked why i don't like you. And I talked about the fact that botters lose my respect to many people. I might have mentioned you in that connection in a conversation, but I honestly can't remember.

About using @wgm "excessively". Me? I don't really use @wgm since months... I tried to get announcements with that command but I can't even remember when or if at all I ever used it to report someone. I normally report only people who abuse me or my friends ingame in a way, where ignore is no solution. and i do that in the forum.

bot checking: Did you actually read the interview posted above? It states clearly what I will say again now: I am not favouring people I like, and I am not treating people I don't like worse. I would not check you more then any other player who got reported. Why should I waste my time and check on you ever half hour? There are more entertaining ways to waste my time.

Accusing someone for something: At this moment I am not a GM. So I will keep saying what comes to my mind. Should I become a GM, of course there is no way to always say what you think.

About Platynas statement: I am not going to drop any friends for a GM-position. And I also can't and will not stop players "socializing" with me. This is a game and I will keep playing it with or without GM-position. If it should be Platynas will, to better keep me out of the team for that fact, it is her decision and I will not try to change her mind.

Maybe one thing for the generally critic people
I said a few times to people: This is a Role Play Game. People play a role. So do I. Like every game, this game has rules. I know the rules and I act according to them. Also I play the role I chose to play. This is how people ingame and in the forum know me. At least those who never talked longer then 5 minutes to me. I know what image I have pretty well, and that there are enough people who see that image and think something like "OMG not Leela!". Ok, their opinion.
What I can say for now about me and the position "GM": I used to be Admin in a Forum and both the technical side and the team worked very well. I also got chosen to be moderator in another community four years ago. I quit that job due to personal and technical reasons half a year ago. I never treated anyone unfair and there have never been any complaints.
Actually I can only give you guys my word for it, as I don't wanna post the two communities openly. Who really has to know can send me a pm and can get the links to both via pm (both communities still exist).

Amun: I answered the questions as well as i could. I don't have to change your mind. You already voted and sockpuppeting in votes is forbidden so it doesn't matter. As for how often I would check. I don't know if there is a rule how often some people have to be checked. There might be one in the GM-Section of the forum which i can't enter because i am no gm. But if you need a number how often YOU will be checked - *watchout sarcasm comes* I will check YOU every 10 minutes.
I saw you twice on GY since the GY exists and if you get checked it is not my problem. I didn't even stay near you longer then a minute. Not really enough to see if someone is botting. Do you really think I care enough about you to just send a freaking "@wgm Amun is at the grave yard"? Wow you have some big ego.
Would everyone who ever got reported by anyone make such a scene, this would be a pretty whiny forum, don't you think.
It is not favouritism to not drop friends. I gave warnings to friends in the past and I would do it here too. As a GM my ingame-job is GM period. I don't think you see that it is absolutely possible to draw that border and stick to it.

The only thing that does make me want to change my vote is that I'm 99.9% sure you would crash and burn as GM and that might be fun to watch.

Actually Amun that you want to see someone (me or anyone else) crash under a duty that is so important for the community, shows me your character pretty well.

Ok I decided to give you the surprise today already, because I have no new ideas for the campaign anyway.

So read this carefully
(especially those who spent so much energy to give me a no to ever yes that appeared - long live sockpuppeting)

This campaign, my whole poll, is just a game for me. Not more. And it was from the beginning. I left it open to see what will happen, then I got the idea, why not make it like a real election. So i changed my strategy from completely shutting up to advertising myself.
There were just three players who didn't like that.
I got mostly positive reactions to this.

Now maybe some of you might say: "Yes you say so now, because your votes are not as you hoped them to be."
To that I can only say, everyone who knows me in this game, and I mean knowing like talking mote then 5 minutes, so ... everyone who knows me, knows that i do not want to be GM.
I told that to many people in the past and also during this week.
To name just a few of them: iceslice, Enchilado, MrWho, ChickaMaria, Mistakes, Narus, Tiana, ChefChelios, Slicer.
Other then some people here who really want to do that job, I don't.

This has reasons:
1. I mentioned I used to be both Admin and Mod. I did those jobs well but I got pretty annoyed at some point. I don't like to have to watch others and having to enforce rules.
2. I do not want to be in the current GM-Team. Mostly because I rarely hear anything positive about Platyna who leads that team. I'd have no good feeling to join, sorry.
3. I like to play this game, I like the role I play here, I do not want to change that. If I feel silly I want to behave like that and if I feel sad I want to behave like that. As a GM you always should be neutral, objective, have to talk in a good way, show nice manners, be kind even if getting annoyed, etc... I don't want that. I want to play - that's it.
4. I have enough whispers already without being GM. Sometimes I can't walk 5 seconds without getting a whisper. It would get only worse as a GM. No thanks, I would like to have a bit time to play and just enjoy the game.

Those are the four main reasons, of course there are a few small things too. For example as far as I know there is nothing that tells a GM e.g. how long a ban they do should last (depending on what they ban for). When I was Mod I knew exactly "only kick for this" "one hour ban for that" "ip ban for that" etc.... I would miss that.

So guys, just have fun, enjoy the game, and hope with me that Alons gets the needed votes, he would make a good GM in my opinion.
