I'd like to hit harder?

Post by BewareAlbatross »

Hi!

Just began in the World, love it so far. Quite hooked. :D One thing is though, I'd like to hit harder without going over to archery or magic. I'm wondering if there's a better way I could roll my stats.

At the moment I'm at 30 vitality, 44 dexterity. I have the scythe. Attack is 84, defense is 52, accuracy is 73, evade is 30.

Any thoughts? :)

Greatly appreciate the guidance :)

I'm getting the forest bow in case that turns out to be the only way, incidentally.

Switch from dex / vit to str / luck? I'm a few levels short of the bone knife unfortunately.

[EDIT]

Someone convinced me to try archery... And the raw numbers look fantastic. So maybe I shouldn't be so prejudiced against it just because it costs money. :D On paper my damage looks to potentially double with a pure dexterity build. :D

archer is good for a while. I would switch at about 85 to warrior because the ability to live and stay leveling, to maximize your time, comes into play

At around that point from what I've ready it becomes quite popular to switch to melee tanking and stack on the trash mobs with about four or five other people in your party, preferably a diverse group who can do both cone AoE and single target melee... Seems to be what I'm reading? I'm not sure, does this game have a threat table for mobs or is tanking limited to basically... Whoever can take the most lumps be the one who runs and grabs strays and the initial pull?

I am having a LOT of fun with this game!!!

I keep learning more and more. :D

You have good stats for the starter, really.
you need all the dex you have now to hit the better monsters. If you want to improve you could start giving the points you get from now on to str and agi. str makes it harder, agi makes you faster. OR str and luck if you plan to play on the graveyard or jack0. luck means that you get less critical hits which is important when you are not archer.
btw you could get your short sword. I think it has +100

Yes normally you whould stack together and one pulls mobs. But sadly not many do that anymore :( I used to love this way of levelling.

I don't think there are pure tanks in this game. The problem with tanks is, they cannot really level because their points (if pure tank) go all to vit and luck. So normally one with high vit will pull mobs, enter dangerous places first etc

have fun :)
As long as it's not about my eye...
CAUTION! Do not look into laser with remaining eye.

There are, but yes it does take us a very long time to chip away at each level (and for that matter, each monster). Definitely not recommended for those without patience, but just as definitely possible to use as a supporting role.

Hehe... Patience I've got in spades. I used to play WoW... The stuff you have to do to get to the top there requires that you be a saint patience-wise. ROFL

Well, I've touched the mana seed and earned the right to use magic, I've crafted my forest bow, and I've earned my scythe, and in a few levels I'll get the bone knife.

It's not like it's prohibitively expensive to respec... I'm thinking I should play around a bit and see what I like the most! :) Oh and leveling a tank *can* be an utter blast but only if the tank can also do fun amounts of broad AoE. Then it becomes amusing as heck. Oh the days in WoW when you could nuke the living heck out of twelve or fifteen mobs as a prot aoe pally. Kaboom, quarter of a level done in a halffidan hour. Anyhoo...

Thanks for the tips!
