You can only find grade one gems from monsters. 5 gems of a lower value can be combined to one of the next higher tier (Diablo 2 had a similar system, afaik).
A +1 ring needs only one gem.
+2 needs 5
+3 needs 25
+4 needs 125
+5 needs 625
+6 needs 3125
+7 needs 15625

Well ... I was saying some extra-bonus around 5% for each type of stats value would be a great idea:
particulary in AGI, VIT and DEX.
At around 1Mgp those rings are expensive, the required gems take some time and efforts to collect :
great reward for addicted players.
Specific raise in ONE stat value would surely lead to more specialized characters in games :
pushing the actual warrior/archer/mage system a little further should bring some benefit to the the "good spirit" of this game.
PS :
- "dummy" isn't a reductive designation, just a way to comply to actual Forum Regulations.
