[PASS] Big Crunch for GM!
Forum rules
- Each member of the community can make a topic (poll) suggesting another person for a GM. You can't make a poll for yourself.
- One topic per person, any duplicates will be removed and votes will be lost.
- Each poll has to be done according to the schema (yes has to be first option and no the second):
"Do you agree for person X to become a GM?"
"Yes."
"No."
You are supposed to allow only one option per user and allow revoting.
You are supposed to pick "run for 0 days". - A person suggested has to collect at least 45 votes (or more) for yes, with minimum 75% for yes and maximum 25% for no (3:1 ratio).
- A person suggested may request closing of the topic.
- Only posts containing valid pros and cons are allowed in the threads, discussions however are not allowed. For discussions about particular case use Player Talk forums.
- If a person collects the required votes, assuming there are free positions and no objections are raised, they'll be granted "Junior GM" rights for a certain period.
- After training and approval from the senior GMs, the team will formally grant full GM rights and team membership.
- If many persons will gain required voices, voice count will matter.
- The amount of GMs to pick in certain time line will be determined by the TMW Team (Admins, GMs and developers).
- Persons rejected due lack of free positions will be put on hold till any position becomes available (according to vote count).
- If more than a year passes, a new poll must be open to ensure the community is still fine with the nomination.
- Usual GM choosing criteria and guidelines still apply, persons not meeting those criteria will be rejected and will have their thread closed.
- Sockpuppeting will be detected and all accounts, including the master's one will be banned forever without warning. There is one vote per person, and a person means a human being not a forum account.
- If this forum will turn into a flame war cave, people posting here will act unreasonably and will break the rules on massive scale, forum will be closed down. So use it wisely.
- If you don't know a person suggested, it is better to find out who is s/he and what they do before voting, do not vote "no" just because you don't know someone.
- State EXACT player name that clearly identify a person (in game or on forums - precise which one it is).
- After a candidate receives required amount of votes, the poll is closed, a candidate reviewed by the TMW Committee and asked (or not - in case of valid objections) to become a GM.
- You need to have at least 10 posts to participate in the polls.

Re: Big Crunch for GM!
In all honesty, of almost everyone nominated in this section, Big Crunch is the Only one I'd be truly glad to see become GM. It is truly disturbing that these polls seem to be based on general popularity. I mean, if you vote no for somebody because you don't like someone they associate with, or because you don't know them... people who do that ruin the whole point of these polls. We're not voting for our new best friend, we're voting for someone who will be responsible and is willing to possibly give up popularity to uphold the rules.
My point is, I've seen a few people who could have done well, who were just swamped in no votes and had no chance. While I doubt I would have made the best GM, I didn't have any enemies in game, yet in my own topic I ended up with about 60 no votes. BC is balanced, I've yet to see him actually get angry and respond negatively to anything. He is nice, and helpful, which are not requirements for a GM, but he should be popular enough to get the votes he needs if that's what it comes down to. Like I've said, he's also often on at times that I never see the other GMs online at, which would be a big help filling that gap where there are no GMs online for hours.
So, why not do the game a favor, instead of just voting when friends of yours are nominated, and vote yes?

GM-s are not only the police, they are for players. So players are nominating them, and GHP just regulates it as every other aspect of the game.

@BC: You could send people to me if they only know German... x) or Dutch. or maybe Russian. but it would be better to find someone else since my Russian is quite crappy.
BUT(!) I don't think helping new players the way you described it is really the JOB of a GM. I mean, we CAN do that if we want to. But it's not our duty. Therefore we mustn't use our GM-commands for that either. IMO, it would be better to directly delegate the newbe helping part to some nice player who hasn't got any extra responsibilities.
About the "advertising other servers" thingy...It's not against any rules - only if it becomes spam.
You can all kill me, but I changed my vote to "no" for now. Might change it back though.

Re: Big Crunch for GM!
Thank you for your honesty, Katze. I didn't know you spoke so many languages!
The reason I answered the way I did is because as a GM you are the only obvious form of authority. Therefore its natural for a new player to gravitate toward you for answers and help.
Concerning the advertising another server, I assumed that the question intended the offending party was spamming, either in traditional fashion or via bulk whispers, not just mentioning in conversation.
Either way thank you for your response and I look forward to answering any future questions anyone may have.

Re: Big Crunch for GM!
I didn't let my comment yet, but of course I voted yes for BC.
We used to be of the same party, and I could have the pleasure to know this awesome man.
I'm sure that if He gets that position as a GM, He's going to be a good one, respecting the players and being honest with all of them, but at the same time enforcing the rules.
He has his own opinions about the game, and I really can see that He cares about it. I wish you the best BC, hopeful to see you as a GM.

This man tried to free the Terranite Cave and came pretty far. Change your vote to yes if you want him to succeed!
