Equipment reorganization

This thread is about the reorganization of equipment in eA... right now the equipment tree is very poorly planned out...

I purpose re balancing equipment so it is better suited. This will also include putting minimal levels to use equipment. And also may include buffing and nerfing of equipment.

This will also require making sure items can be obtained at such levels.

How does eAthena handle items which reduce attributes when the attributes fall to 0 or below by equipping them?

Wow, those would be really nice stats. Maybe not the defense, but look at all those other boni :D (not that I like negative boni, but it balances the game I guess :( ). And the attack is better on the weapons too! When will it happen? Although why does the crusade helm give more defense than the warlord helm, when it takes less ore?
Crush: I would assume it just sets it to 0 and leaves it at that?

If a monster does 100 damage, it will block 18 damage.
If a monster does 200 damage, it will block 36 damage.

Then if you combine two armor, it will increase % together... so say armor that 12 defense + one that has 6 defense, will protect you from 18% of damage.

But there will be a cap on this... (this is not decided yet).... So after you get so much armor, say +80%, more armor will not help you anymore... for this you must depend on your health pool and healers to cover the remaining 20% of the damage you will take.

YES THIS MEANS NO MORE "1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1" damage rows

Quests will have to be rebalanced as well... BUT the main reason why crusade helm and warlord helm have different stats is because, while the crusade helm provides more def, it removes from your agility (and maybe dex once we agree on stats). While the warlord helm does not inhibit your agility... So you must decide how important agility is to you vs. armor.

The idea behind this, is that no one item is "The best you can get", they each have pros and cons, so hopefully this will add more variety to the game where people won't look the same.

paramc etc are all signed int, so there shouldn't be a problem there. Range checking is performed on the derived stats after calculations for them are done. (see [pc_calcstatus] for details)

I'm not seeing any negative M.Attack values in the list. Are you going to be keeping the old values as-is when it's not explicitly defined in your list?

I don't recall us using it as a curve... however it would be fine with me if we do... I am going to start a new thread for balancing formulas when I am done with this one...

May I propose a lvl 99 only weapon?
Something that has a moderate damage bonus (so it's not overpowered) but with something like a +1 to all stats (to make it very desire-able?

Kage, I think this is a big step in the right direction. =]
Adding agility at the expense of def makes perfect sense to me.
After Mob exp experience was rebalanced, players were asked to wait and be patient...
I would gladly choose to take more combat damage in exchange for faster attack,

This could change the entire feeling of game speed and combat excitement.
If done well, we could recover some of what was best about old gameplay feel...mainly a faster paced game feeling.
Not looking for first person shooter game speed, but damn its been slow motion for awhile.

i'd like to had a few thoughts: we are talking about a new balance

how will this impact on the balance (chances to level at the same speed) for archers-warriors-mages ?

actually it is quite unbalance imho
i go further
get one of each in front of a mob
archer with forrest bow and iron arrows will do around 350 on hit
mage lvl 99 750 on lightning
warrior full equiped 270 on hit

what will be the xp of each ?
equal ?
if so fantastic you reached the best that could ever been reached

if not... still unbalanced
as warrior will get all crits
and less xp
and no drops
