1. There is now a nice tutorial map. The way of helping changes a bit now. I think that the best way to help a player is to play with her/him for a while and see which are her/his needs. Generally, questions turn around client use or what to do. I think that completing quests in the "natural" order is the best way for smooth progression in game knowledge. I generally advise to read carefully what NPC say (I find some dialogs really fun) and to try several times the same NPC. I used to give pants and some other basic items but the new quests changed the needs. (better pants than hats for new players please!). I advised about wiki but try to have players use it only if they are stuck and can't complete a quest with friends, which is much more fun. When helping on more complicated quests I try to explain the underlying logic.Crush wrote:To show the community your attitude towards this whole GM thing I would like to ask those who think that they would make good game masters to answer a few questions. I think that this will help the players to judge you more objectively during the current GM voting.
This is NOT an official request from the GHP. You don't have to fill this out to become a game master. Not posting your answers in this thread will not affect your chance to be chosen by the GHP as a game master.
1. What is the best way to help a new player who just started playing the game in your opinion (when you are not a game master but just a normal player)?
2. When you would have the ability to spawn items using a GM command, who would get what from you?
3. You are a GM, get online and immediately receive reports about these behaviors by different players about different players. Please order them by your priority in dealing with them:
-advertisement for other servers
-botting
-insults
-not speaking english in public
-scamming
-spamming
4. A player disagrees with your decisions and starts to insult you in public. How would you react?
I do agree with this order.Platyna wrote:Well, time to set some rules:
1. Do not abuse other players (it means insults, swearing etc. directed to a particular person/s)
2. No bots (and by botting I mean ANY AFK activity in game).
3. No spamming/flooding (including trade spam).
4. No begging.
5. Speak English on public chat.
6. RFC 1855.

Please do not: voting for me as a GM has nothing to do with kindness or friendship for me, but only with this project's and game's interests. The same applies for those who votes no, I wished to like to know why then, (PM, whisper...)Dark_Mag wrote:Voted yes, the reason is... erm... I'm very kind today.

I'm sorry your poll was wasted like this, I'm not gonna vote at all for now. Maybe in the future you'll have another poll in which I'll vote yes of course.
14. A person successfully passing this procedure will be given "Junior GM" rights for a certain period, and then will be granted full GM rights.
