Botchecks
Botchecks
Hi, I recently had what seemed to be considered a botcheck from Prsm. What happened was, I was killing bats, and I saw Prsm at the other side of the room say "hiya." I kept killing bats. About a minute later Prsm said something to the effect that two minutes are up, and needless to say I was baffled. How obsequient need we be? I don't need to kill bats, I suppose. Note that Prsm did not inform me in English that he was performing a botcheck or that I needed to respond.
Re: Botchecks
Hi.
I don't know exactly what happened. But the standard procedure of gm's is to first greet, if we don't get a hi back we might suspect that someone is automated and therefore proceed with the botcheck standard. If you would like to see how it use to look like peek into the abuse forums where there are a plethora of botcheck screenshots.
If someone say that you are being botchecked you should answer right away and you are off the hook. Having 2 minutes to be able to respond to a GM is quite generous imo.
We perform random checks on people so you don't have to feel singled out, nearly everyone that fights as a warrior/melee will get them from time to time so you don't have to feel singled out.

Re: Botchecks
The GM did not say that it was a botcheck in English. They merely said "hiya."
I mean, saying hiya is fine, and performing botchecks is fine, but saying hiya and going back and claiming that it was a botcheck is inappropriate and feels a little backhanded to me. He's a really nice guy but I feel uncomfortable with such unclear enforcement. =/

Re: Botchecks
Not sure what the question is here. Indeed I was doing a botcheck, that is part of a GM's job. I also did not use the word botcheck or your name while doing it.Why? Many of the clients now sound an alarm or sound to notify the users they are being botchecked. After the original "hiya" , I followed it with "you have 2 minutes to respond". At that time you responded and i said "that was 2 minutes, you must be running automation" , and I went invisible.Lucifer wrote:Hi, I recently had what seemed to be considered a botcheck from Prsm. Is the problem that you were botchecked? I am somewhat confused.

Re: Botchecks
I never saw you say that I had 2 minutes to respond, all I saw was you said hiya. O_o
I don't have chat log enabled so I can't look back. I'll take your word for it. Thanks for the clarifications, everyone.
