I have not played TMW for ages, Yesterday I received a mail from http://www.themanaworld.net/ about a private message but when I try to login my user/password doesn't work, then I realize that the original website was http://www.themanaworld.org not .net; Are both the same? which is the official one?

Also I remember that when I played the game, it beggins in a market in a desert, now when I downloaded the client from http://www.themanaworld.org, the game beggins inside a room and it looks a more sofisticated adventure; The old game was replaced by this one, or this is a complete different game?

the official server is themanaworld.org

no, the game did not get replaced, it just (forcefully) changed owner (you should ask people about the Platyna affair) and evolved over time. until recently you still started in the desert but now you start on candor island

In a very nutshell:

TMW.org is the real original server and Platyna was our host for a long, long time.
The team decided to move along without her due to several problems.
Platyna then created .net and claimed to be the original server.
Well needless to say that .org is the one that rocks
