Scammer

Post by TCIndiana »

Sorry I don't know which forum to post this in, but I was just scammed today, xikze (the scammer) told me to give him all my hats (I actually kept one so it wasn't a total loss.) and he would give me all the hats in the game. Now this sounded fishy to me from the start, but he did give me some stuff for another trade immediately prior to this, so I kind of trusted him (I still kept one hat back so my defense lvl wouldn't be hurt) well, I thought he was going to give me the hats, and he died... I found him and tried to talk to him and he wouldn't respond. eventually he logged off.

here are screenshots of the conversation.

OMG. That was a costly lesson for you. The trade function is suppose to work. Are you saying he died during the trade and he got the hats without you you OKing the trade. Or did you accept the trade in trust that he wouldn't scam you?

Well if you accepted it, thats stupidity on your part, no offense. But you just need to have common knowledge, if something sounds to good to be true then most of the time it is.

But yeah, it's still nice to warn people about scammers, thanks.

He was banned for two months.

Anyway, people should be more careful when dealing with others in online communities, however I can't agree with the argument that we should ignore the issue because "people shouldn't be naive" - of course they shouldn't, but we have children here among with adults, and being naive is hard to define in a large age scope.

The other thing worth to mention is that people counting on "nice occasions" are also some way trying to exploit others.

Regards.
