Red slimes and black scorpions keep attacking from afar

I have died multiple times in the mines because of a bug where after passing monsters by, they somehow keep attacking me, even after they are significantly far away. This only happens in the upper level of the mine; nowhere else.

I'm using Windows XP Pro SP2, not that it probably matters.

The current server prevents characters from moving for a bit after they've been attacked and so it ignores your movement and thinks you're still where the monsters are.
