New Linux Game Site

Post by XOIE »

Hello people!

I'm the maintainer of a very new site for native linux games:
The Linux Game Database http://www.lgdb.org
The aim of the site is to create an easy and feature rich tool to find games fast and provide a quick jet comprehensive impression.

I added The Mana World to the database.
http://www.lgdb.org/node/31

The sites relies heavily on game attributes like genre and features to form extensive filter possibilities for the user. It would be great if someone would check the information i provided and see if all is correct, please let me know if you like to have anything changed.

Ciao,
XOIE

I guess "Game Theme: Present" is supposed to be the scenario where the game takes place? If yes that is incorrect, The Mana World takes place in a fantasy scenario.

One could also argue if "Comic" is a correct classification for TMWs graphic style. Some people will likely want to punch me for this statement, but considering that the major influence of TMWs ingame artwork are games of japanese origin it could rather be classified as manga.

And whatever "Game Mode: Campaign" is supposed to mean, it certainly does not apply to TMW. The "game mode" of most (if not all) MMORPGs could be rather described as "Sandbox".

Please do not send me any inquiries regarding player accounts on TMW.

You might have heard a certain rumor about me. This rumor is completely false. You might also have heard the other rumor about me. This rumor is 100% accurate.

hehe, i was always wondering what the game mode is....
i'm not a regular mmorpg player, but i if i understand the term "sandbox" correct i guess there are two types of mmorpg's one with scripted missions like "WoW" (i would call campaigns) and one like "second life" that would be called "sandbox". was that what you had in mind?

But in WoW, your activities aren't completely controlled by the scripts. You have plenty of freedom. MMORPGs tend to have several of your modes.

Granted, the categories are very rough, but the game description can be more detailed and list all possible variants.
