Lost my items after trade!!!

I hope someone can help me.

Some minutes ago I was trading some items with another character logged in another computer on same network. Some of these item were a Short Sword and a Leather Shield. Just after the trade was completed, the server went down. After we connect again to the server NONE OF THE CHARACTERS HAD THE ITEMS TRADED!!!!!!!!! So I lost my Short Sword!!!
I hope the programmers can fix this problem and maybe give my items back.
