The red "Error" appears when a character has an item equipped which is unknown to your client. Please restart the client and make sure that the update process completes.
When the red "Error" does still appear then please search your tmw.log for lines which read that something from graphics/sprites could not be read or something about unknown item IDs (besides the stuff about missing attributes at startup) and post them here.
