[REQ] Body part icons for all of our monsters

Post by Rotonen » 26 Dec 2008, 17:36

This is a big task, so I'm expecting to see cooperation between people. If you're a new artist, this is probably the easiest task to begin with: static 32x32 pixel icons.

I'd like to see 3-5 different body part icons for each monster type we have. We might end up with 10 or 20 different body parts for some monsters in the process. That's not an issue, we'll just pick the 3-5 best in the end.

You are also encouraged to retouch or redo any icons you think could be done better.

Maybe you should also mention that said items are supposed to be generic drop items.

Two graphics I made ages ago, bat wing and bat teeth:

Here are a couple versions of a Mouboo ear. I made them 32x32 as requested. See what you think...

For now, ear1. If mouboo gets retouched from its matte approach now to the shiny approach of ear2, then that.

Take a look at this as a black scorpion pincer. Looks a little fuzzy here.

The pincer should have an outline like most other items.

Is there a place where the specs for these graphics is posted? I have questions like, how many colors are preferred, does the outline need to be all the same color (so that it can be overlaid)? Do you need any border of transparent color around the object or can it go to the edges, etc, etc.

sprites needs a transparant background (32 bit png)
currently we do not have any guidelines, the closest thing we have to guidelines is my unfinished proposal: http://wiki.themanaworld.org/index.php/ ... Guidelines
