PvP Games
One-on-One
In this game, it is just "practice" individual versus individual combat on a pvp map. While there are ante and trophy based tournament ideas around, this one does not have competitive rankings and is more just sparring between players without any set rules other than those in the moment of the game.
Mob Hunting
In this game one or a few participants are chosen to be "hunted" while the rest of the participants are "hunters". Hunters outnumber the hunted in either case and it is the role of the hunted to evade or tactically eliminate the hunters while the hunters attempt to swarm or corner the hunted and eliminate them. Criteria for success is survival and kills. Good game for a small number of powerful characters versus a larger number of not so powerful characters.
Cutthroat King of the Arena
In this game individuals battle to control the middle arena on the arena pvp map. There are no sides, so it is an all round battle royale between all individuals participating. Criteria for success is staying alive while staying inside the arena ring area longer than others. There is no way to rank wins other than how individuals feel they did in the pvp game.
Team vs. Team pvp: "Crusaders vs. Warlords"
Problems: Lower level people will find it difficult to participate.
How to Play: Gather in Hurnscald Town Center, each participant should have both helmets for the game. The organizer picks a number between 1-100 secretly that the participants have to guess. The two closest to the secret number are "team leaders". The closet team leader to the number picks their helmet choice (warlord or crusader helmets) and begins picks first among participants for their team. Participants for each team are chosen one at a time by the team leader until all participants are chosen. If participation has odd numbers, the last person goes to the team leader that came the closest to the secret number, giving the first team leader an advantage in numbers. Teams then gather together on a pvp map (Tulimshar arena), moving to opposite ends. The opposite ends are team bases where the team can gather its numbers. Obviously all team members must wear the particular helmet on to show which team they are on. Should a participant lack the proper helmet, they will not be able to participate. Individual members may assist on an individual basis on loaning or trading a helmet to another player, but this is not recommended or encouraged, to prevent begging while the game is being organized.
Team King of the Arena
In this team battle scenerio the teams are attempting to seize the middle arena on the arena map from each other and hold it as long as possible. While somewhat competitive, there isn't any set criteria for a "win", but holding the arena throughout most of the pvp conflict can create an idea of how the extended battle was played out. The team base can be used as a "free space" on the pvp map where teams can gather without being harrassed. Problems exist when entering the arena at random spots, so team bases may not be used for battles on this map for "King of the Arena".
Team Base Control
In this team battle scenerio there should be plenty of participants to break teams into smaller squads. Each team will have a team base to defend from the other team, in addition to claiming one or more neutral bases in between the team bases. Again the same idea of trying to hold bases for the length of the game is the primary criteria. In this scenerio, attackers are trying to claim the other team's base in addition to keeping their own base and taking a neutral base.
PvP Tournaments
Round Based Ante Tournaments
Where: Tulimshar (Desert Town). (1) We start collecting "ante" from championship fight participants in the "Main Area", next to the Soul Menhir (the rock). (2) After we have determined who is entering the championship, we will take bets on who will win the overall championship for that week. (3) Everyone moves into the Tulimshar PvP Arena and surround the "ring". The ring's boundaries are within the 4 statues surrounding the fight square.
Tournament Ante Cost: Several tiers can be created with rising ante costs. Recommended 50+ 5k, 60+ 10k, 70+ 20k, 80+ 30k and 90+ 50k
Pick-Me-Up Games: After the main championship tournament, there is the option for some to hold "pick me up" fights. LV suggests and encourages a 5k fee for pick me up games. However, space can be provided for "fun" games.
Bets: After registration is complete, the Bookie will briefly take bets on who will win the weekly championship.
Tournament Roles
Judge - Sits in middle of ring to see entire fight. The Judge announces fights, keeps the fight schedule moving. They also call "faults", "smears", end fights and disqualify fighters.
Bookie - Takes bets before the fight. Keeps record of name of the better, the bet amount and who they betted for.
Fighter - Sits at the south end of the ring when not fighting. They are only to fight when called on to speed rounds by.
Spectator - They sit around the parameter of the ring. Spectators are asked to whisper or talk in between rounds to prevent confusion.
Tournament Rules: "One-on-One, 5 Rounds, Most Points"
Fight Matches always lasts 5 rounds. Each round can last upto 3 minutes. One opponent defeating the other using any style of combat counts as a point. Fighters begin "naked" and progressively get better armor on as the rounds pass. The winner is the one that has the most points after 5 rounds. Due to the possibility of faults taking points and causing ties, a tie breaker round can be used to determine the winner of the match. Winning the final match determines the winner in most fights.
Round One: Naked (no visible armor and no "naked" spell)
Round Two: + Gloves and Boots
Round Three: + Leggings
Round 4: + Breastplate
Round 5: + Helmet
Tie-Breaker: repeat Round 5
Round Protocol: (1) Fighters take off visible armor while Judge announces Fighters. (2) Fighters announce they are ready. Fighters: "Ready". (3) Judge tells fighters to touch. Judge: "Touch". (4) Judge asks to confirm if fighters are indeed ready. Judge: "Ready, yes or no?" Fighters: "Yes" or "No" (5) Judge announces the fight is now ready. Judge: "Ready.." (6) Judge begins fight. Judge: "Fight!". Using this protocol as a model may make fight run smoothly.
Faults: Diliberate or Accidental shooting the timekeeper, bookie or judge anytime during the fight. Diliberate or Accidental shooting of opponent before timekeeper says "fight". Diliberate or Accidental shooting of fighters or spectators outside of fight rounds. 3 faults can cause a fighter to lose a point off their match. judge calls faults.
Disqualifications and Smears: If a fighter outside their tournament rounds attacks or disrupts fighters or judges during their tournament rounds, the judge may give a warning of disqualification to that fighter, even if their fighting round has already passed or is yet to pass. If it occurs again, the judge may disqualify them. If a spectator does the same (including a disqualified fighter, who may now be a spectator) the judge may warn the spectator they may be smeared by the tournament. There after, should the spectator continue, the judge may pause the tournament and call a smear on the spectator. In a smear, everyone in the tournament is asked to attack who should be smeared. If the tournament is disrupted, the judge may continue the fight after things have calmed down or end the fight prematurely, giving the weekly tournament title and pot to the fighter with the most points.
