[WIP] Snake Lord Monster Sprite

Post by Kage » Wed May 13, 2009 7:52 am

For anyone one who takes interest, I am looking for a "Snake Lord" monster for a project I am working on.

Ideally if should be about as tall as a player, similar height/width to the Jacko, maybe more width due to his tail.

My idea for it is to have a tail for legs, and a snake head. But with arms. A cross between giant snake, and a humanoid. I found this image on the web which is close to what I am looking for:

As for coloring/texture/animations, your free to experiment with what you (and others) like.

Thanks a head of time :D

Fother, can you make it larger?

Besides being taller in the standing pose, did it need to be slightly bigger?

Just let me know, and I'll continue from there to make the base wireframe walk/stand/attack animation.

I honestly think the one on the right has a better size.

Can we get the bigger one that is a bit more finished with arms/tail. Its hard to do a size comparison with missing body parts ;)

I'm not much of a graphics person. But I think the rule of thumb is, its easier to go down, then up. So can you make it bigger now then we size it down later if we decide to?

Also not sure about the red either.

:P False colored just to show the sections. I have to finish animating the outlines first, or at least create the body segments and their derivative motion frames for each direction, then color properly & piece together.

I request a proof of concept of the animation of this before going too far with the details.

So.... what about the animation?

Tail moves, I say the upper body might bob back and forth too

Make it act similar to a cobra. When you get close to it the head area would flare out and flatten like a cobra. Also when you get real close it rises up similar to the png. When you walk far enough away from it, it lays close to the ground and has a more rounded appearance, which makes it look far less menacing. As for animation, have the tongue move in and out and the tail move slowly.
