How does healing work?
How does healing work?
I've been wondering how the Healing spells work? I'd like to learn how to do these as it would not only help me but also allow me to help others.
I've heard you have to type in the chat box to cast spells but that you also have to learn them from someone. Where do I learn them and what is the requirement?
I'm level 32 and have the following stats:
STR 10
AGI 35
VIT 20
INT 5
DEX 30
LUCK 5
I know Intelligence is required to help with magic, but would 5 prevent me from casting and/or learning Healing spells?
I also know that metal armor and certain other items hinder magic, but I've tried working without my armor and still nothing happens.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Re: How does healing work?
Type #lum in the chat box for the most basic healing magic
#lum to heal your self or #lum playername
Intellegince points and maybe exp from using the spell will allow you to heal people further away, but at the start you can only heal people right next to you, unless it all relies just on inteligence points, not sure
You'll need lifestones to do this spell, for now you have to get them from Elanore the Healer for 10 of each herb and that will get you 5 lifestones, each cast of this spell requires one lifestone
You must have also done the mana potion/mana seed quest

Thanks, but where do I start that quest and what do I need to do for it? I checked the wiki and couldn't find a quest by that name.Goku wrote:You must have also done the mana potion/mana seed quest
Re: How does healing work?
Well magic has just been recently added so no one has done a tutorial for it.
But you start it by touching the mana seed north of Hurnscald, then go back into Hurnscald and talk to Wyara. I think you need some Mauve Herbs and one or two bottle of waters.
With those she'll make you a mana potion. Drink it and then go touch the mana seed. You can then do other magic quests like the healing one you wanted, as well as other ones.
After a while of practicing you can touch the seed again and get lvl 2 magic and that's all it goes up to for now.

Thanks for you help, but there doesn't seem to be a mana seed North of Hurnscald, not one I can see atleast.
Would you mind taking a screenshot of it?
And where would I get bottles of water?
Thanks

it's in a cave with waterfalls, near Npc Amrak

Re: How does healing work?
The mana seed quest requires you to be lvl 40. You can find the seed before, but you can't do the quest. You need to search for the seed in a cave (don't bother with the caves filled with aggressive monsters - spiders, skulls, mountain or regular snakes, black scorpions etc.) Look for caves with bats and non-aggressive cave snakes. If you still can't find it, ask someone or contact me (/whisper Kill3rZ) in the game and I'll take you there
You can find water bottles for sale at the general store in Hurnscald and in the winter city. Water bottles are also dropped by sea slimes and mouboos, but I don't think you can fight those efficiently at lvl 32.

Re: How does healing work?
Are you sure? I thought that the level requirements were blvl 10 for level one magic and blvl 30 for level 2 magic. I've managed to get lower level characters magic abilities as well, when I used secondary and tertiary characters for more chances of obtaining the happy-curse invocation.Kill3rZ wrote:The mana seed quest requires you to be lvl 40.

Re: How does healing work?
I'm pretty sure.
WARNING! Spoiler ahead:
Last time I tried to help someone with 30+ lvl gain magic, Wyara refused to produce a mana potion until lvl 40. If you can get mana potions from the alchemist, maybe it works sooner but I think it's much more expensive.

Re: How does healing work?
You might be right. It wouldn't be the first time noobs are *sure* they did what they were supposed to do when you help them and it doesn't work. They usually don't have a root, a slime or something in the inventory and they decide that "it's not working for them" But mentioning level 40 of all things... I'll have a look at the code, but, as I said, you might be right. Or, as I'm running out of things to do with my main character, I might create a new one and try this out.
Re: How does healing work?
Oh yeah. Impatient n00b strikes again. Wyara was talking about 40 mauve leaves and a bottle of water. N00b sees 40 and thinks of lvl 40. Wyara offered to brew my mana potion at lvl1 with 0 xp. This game was not designed for geniuses, but I think reading skills should be a must.
Re: How does healing work?
So I need to find a cave near waterfalls with an NPC Amrak near them?
And I can do it at any level?
EDIT: Thanks everyone. I Found the cave and did the mana potion quest(s). Now I can cast spells once I remove my armor.
Any advce for ways to raise my level now and where to go to learn healing (I think Elanore?).
