Except that there are other players here who are minors who love to play this game as well. We should be setting a good example for them and keep this a "safe" and friendly place to play and socialize.

That's all fine and dandy if you are a minor.

But I know for a fact there are those as young as 10yrs old who play. Many of these kids don't have the discernment to determine for themselves whether or not they have the "maturity" to "handle" it as you put it. Just because "they" say minors shouldn't play because of a "maturity" issue, doesn't mean "they" are right.

If not for the reason of not wanting to limit your target audience, then at least keep it clean because it's the right thing to do.

First of all: Pretending to have sex with somebody against their will is very annoying and in my opinion it is worse than verbal abuse (which is currently punished as far as I know).

This is more than a bunch of pixels for each and every one of us. When you kill a jacko and get 10k+ xp you feel some pride in it (especially if it's your first one). I don't think that you automatically think that all you did was move some pixels around. If you play this game long enough when you look at that human-looking sprite on the screen you will end up thinking: that's me.

What I'm trying to say is that it is possible to be offended in game. Even the best role-players share a part of themselves with the others. The characters you created are still a part of you and if Freud knew anything about these things, the part you are sharing with the world while role-playing might be much more important than you think. Besides, many people take this game way too seriously for their own good. Maybe it's a bit silly to ask for punishment over a bad in-game joke, but it's not silly to feel offended by it.

And second: In the US if a parent leaves his child alone in a car even for a few minutes it is considered child abandon and it can get as bad as losing your parental rights over the child.

Letting a 10 y.o. child unattended in front of a computer with Internet access is even more reckless in my opinion. Some parents give their children a proper education before letting them alone on line. Some parents don't. It's their choice and their responsibility, not mine. No matter what you google, if you follow the search long enough you will run into plynpom enlargement pills commercials followed closely by "f.uck somebody in your own town" full with pictures and small clips for "window shopping".

I will say it as many times as needed: I refuse to take responsibility for educating other people's children. First of all you can't protect children from EVERYTHING and second: it's not reasonable to expect me to care about them more than their parents do.

I'm not saying that children should be banned from TMW. If you want to protect your child from porn, you can't close down porn industry. You have to do it by proper education. Or just admit to yourself that you're a control freak and lock away the PC and TV and start building an ivory tower. But no matter what choice you make it's YOUR responsibility and YOUR fault if anything goes wrong.
Later edit: Oh, yeah, over-protecting can also go extremely wrong sometimes and i love it when it does because you don't protect somebody by stealing away their life choices.

A couple minutes later they should begin to @kill players in town, be they troll raepers or whiny chatters. If the players settle down to talk, the GM should give chase and mop them until they STFU and move into monster combat.
