Jack O should be a Wisp

A killed Jack O should randomly turn into a wisp, a spectre or a poltergeist.
Thats more logical and shouldn't be to hard to arrange.

Having the death animation turn into a poltergeist would be more logical.
This is looking at it as a graphics stand of fixing it. A dev might have a way
for Jacko to spawn a poltergeist or wisp upon death. I'm not sure if Eathena
supports this but I'm not a dev.

Crush make it @spawn on death ... once it hits the death "frame" than make the server "spawn <monster>" [...] another idea would be having it random between the three sprites. or we could be boring and add it to the damn sprite sheet.

I would recommend you to learn eAthena scripting before getting involved in such discussions.

The eAthena server is coded in C, not C++. eAthena uses its own [scripting language] for scripts. Check the link at the bottom of that page for a scripting reference, though be aware that most functions there won't work properly in our version of eAthena.

Calling an NPC function when a monster dies is only possible when the monster was spawned using a NPC script initially AFAIK (I haven't checked if this works properly with our outdated version) :|
