I'm kinda stuck, I can't really leave the first town. I found a cave but everything attacks me if I go in there, so I'm kinda confused...

There aren't alot of places to go for low level characters at the moment, so you will probably have to just stick around the town until you get your character a higher level (yes, this sucks. We need some more low level maps).

NOTE TO MAPPERS: Make more maps for lowl level people. A good place would be above the town
