They really should be expensive on the npc though, just as expensive if not more than the items on the exotic trader since these items are more rare than the ones on there cause people who want them can afford them through hard work which has shown considering people *have* bought the crowns/helmet...

There used to be an auctionbot. It's functions could be implemented in ManaMarket. Players could use it, but also every now and then a GM could throw in a rare item.

At some point the conversation might get too emotional... I used to have a nice collection of rare items 3 years ago, then I gave most of them away. I came back to game 1 year ago, I bought some of the items I liked again. I noticed that prices raised a lot, and buying a rare few years ago was easie...

Making unobtainables a drop on a mob is a no no. If people are leaving the game because they can't get a hat theres a different issue there. For those who don't pay attention to update message: General Razha and General Terogan quests now require only 2 undead ears and 3 undead eyes. I'm hoping those quests will be more popular from now.

I recommend a simple formula to calculate the price of a rare hat. For every month the item is in game, the value increases by 700k gold. The resulting price is rounded to 5 million. And every 6 months the prices at exotic trader are adjusted.
