Updated Jacko optimization for Warriors?

Post by chaslinux »

I know mages/wizards own Jacko pretty easily, but I was wondering if there are updated stat optimizations for Warriors to decimate Jacko without having to choke back potions? Cheers!

the stats of jackos are currently optimized for mages so we have a mob specifically that we're good against. even level 99 warriors find it a pain in the ass to kill jacko. the best way for a warrior to do anything to a jacko is with a mage nearby to summon maggots.

Using a rock knife to get vitality up to at least 100, somewhere in the level 70s you'll pick up the twenty-fifth point of autorecovery. This happens to be just enough to reliably withstand an assault from a lone Jack O without using up health items (at 24 points, usually you run out of HP and have to heal up after 6-10 minutes).

Luck is the only stat that has any bearing on your accuracy in this matchup (by allowing you to get critical damage more often), so strength and luck combine to effectively dictate how long you'll need to survive: if you're like me and get low 131-damage criticals without regard for strength or attack speed, it can take 30 minutes or more to get the 75 or so criticals that go with whatever piddling hits you get to add up to 10,000 damage. If you have more stat points at your disposal, or move them around in a more strength-oriented way, it will probably take less time. Your mileage may vary, maybe even to the point where you leave enough off of vitality that it can get some damage to stick but you nonetheless manage to outrace it anyway.

Hi Chicka-Maria, thanks for responding so quickly. I'm 81. I've restated a few times testing different things (speed, etc.). Currently stated as: Str: 53,Agi: 1,Vit: 62,Int: 1,Dex: 67,Luck: 67. Still have to suck back 5 - 7 water per jacko kill.

Way to end the fight after about...3 hits.

And not in the good sense.

If you're putting all your extra points into agility, how many points is that, and what are you taking from every hit?

45/X/1/1/65/68 isn't going to let you take any hits lower than 20, and although it may be quick in between swings for large X, the critical edge with 68 isn't very high. Any amount of dexterity does nothing against Jack O except to add a small bit of damage to each hit that does connect, and with the stat profile as you've described it giving an upper bound of 30 seconds to survive in head-on combat, that increased damage output won't come anywhere close.

Did you mislabel a stat in your guidelines?

That sounds more like a plausible race. Have you timed any benchmarks for how long the battle usually takes each way?
