It's a bit bleached, the heart is a bit out of pixellation style with the rest of the hat and the wings lack (IMO necessary) detail due to scale choices. Per se it is cute, so of course our playerhood will just simply love it.
On the other hand, it does look like what you say it represents, so it's not the most horrible contribution we have had to date.

Maybe you could make it a little darker?

It really hurts the eyes. Please lower the saturation and increase the contrast.

Perhaps trying use less saturation. Here is an example, not very good since it was rushed, but just to give you and idea.
Doesn't that look much better. Much less eye hurting, yet still easy to interpret.

Will the later update of the game be using the whole player template instead of the old hat sprites with only 5 drawings?

When only the position of the item and not the appearance itself changes you needn't create an animation phase for every animation phase of the player sprite. You can just create 5 phases (up, down, left, right, death) and do the positioning with the xml file (or just reuse the positioning in one of the existing hat xml files).

Hey, Di, if you will create the up, down, left, right, and death for that hat like Crush suggested, then I'll worry about the XML for you. However, I don't check here too often any more, so let me know in Blame's forum (
http://216.139.126.36/forums/), when you get them, ok?
