Re: UNIX is UNIX, Linux is Linux and Mac OS X is weird.
Actually, you are wrong about that. Here are the current UNIX operating systems according to the Single Unix Specification (SUS) which determines which operating systems are licensed to call themselves a UNIX operating system. Please note that first line under the UNIX 03 standard which says Mac OS X 10.5. That means that Leopard is UNIX. Go to http://www.unix.org/what_is_unix.html to see an explanation of the UNIX standard. (Sorry, I cannot sit around and watch as someone bashes the one computer company that everyone else attempts [and sometimes fails, like MS did with Windows] to emulate because they are the industry leader in innovation.)Platyna wrote:It is UNIX compliant, not UNIX.

No point trying to argue with Platyna, or any of the other linux fanboi zealots here, they won't listen.

I am not Linux fanboy. Also I am fully aware what is on unix.org site. But you seem to not be aware hat putting there Mac OS X was, is and will be controversial for any person who used to use a real UNIX.
