This version is both aged and chipped.
I'd like the shape of Leela's mixed with the texture of Chef's. I also agree with BBB that it would be good to see it not chipped, just aged.
Current character is "Abolish".

only thing i find a bit weird is the white shading on the letters. the letters are carved in so the white shading is not logical. light shading makes thing look higher or give them a shade on top. but the letters are carved in, so they can't have a shading on top or be higher... i am going to remove that and we'll see how it looks

Yeah I think it looks nicer without the white shading. It looks like carvings rather than embossed words which wouldn't survive time given weather erosion (not that TMW has real weather).
Reminds me of the Washington Monument, which begs the question how tall can a single monument be? Dimond building stretches quite high. I'm thinking having real world landmarks could be an inspiration for future TMW maps. Not literally copying real world "Wonders" but it could create some veeeeeery interesting backstory.
Maybe even an archeologist based quest. (Archeologists have all the fun! XD)

Personally I like the idea of it being cracked...
Make it look VERY old... almost archaic... I think I am going to remove the evil obelisk from the bat cave... the idea doesn't seem that popular, plus I think its too available. I do have a boss fight planned for a deep cave boss... It'll be more fun then Candor!
Also +1 for Crush's idea of making the symbols glow animations. eAthena has the ability to switch NPC sprites ATM, so I think you can "activate" the obelisk to start the boss so it goes from non-glowing to glowing

Im not sure, not very good at graphics... So I am not going to comment on the quality of it or which one is better. But making it look old is very important for this boss, as it is a ancient evil deep underground.Leela wrote:that sounds very cool Kage!
