I’m trying to find a new look for the woodland, while keeping the secret of mana style. Hopefully I’ll be able to update the tileset and keeping damage to the maps at a minimum

Yay, finally replacing those gardened trees with something organic and wild.
Less square houses would be welcome too.
This message used to be meaningful.

Can you make a fruit for me so that we still will be able to use the fruit tree particle fx?
Hope you will make more then just the 3 trees that crush made.

It might be a good idea to keep the "gardened" trees for the wedding ceremony area, or a gigantic garden of some sort.
Lazy bum.

no, they shouldn't be used

The perspective is just too far off
The old fruit tree's perspective (the top of the tree appears to be growing parallel to the 45 degree view of the camera)

Trees can grow like this, it just unlikely…

I like it, but to make it work we'd need more variations. There's nothing wrong with a very specific outline for trees, like the apple three, but if you'll have 20 like it in a screen it's just be to obvious that they all have the same irregular pattern. (I'm referring to that one branch that's hanging all the way down)
In game characters: "5t3v3" and "L "

Fruit tree isn't used as much as normal tree so that isn't a problem, imo.
Great work, Len.

perhaps I'll scale back that branch or make more like it
(replacement for dead tree) Thank Saphy once again

Umm.. about the cloud shadows, I think we should ether make them bigger and more realistic or more stlyzed and playful. (currently they sit between the two and it irks me)

I like the new and the old trees. The new ones are more SoM2-like, old ones more SoM1

Actually your thinking of 3 and 2... 1 was a gameboy game

I think using both would allow mappers to add a more real world randomness to the forest.
But if I had to pick I would say the first one.

I would take them both if number 2 had the dark shadow like number 1. But if I really really have to choose then definitely first one.
